Our Son James will be leaving for Afghanistan on Monday. As a mother, the first thing that comes to my mind is terror. While he is gone I will not be able to hear or see anything having to do with that area. This is my baby, yes he may be 6'6", but he is my baby. When I see him doing adult things, I am amazed - I still, in some deep area of my mind view him as needing me. I fear for ANY discomfort he might have. I can not stand the thought that he won't be able to have a shower when he wants one - and God help any pathetic fool that may cause him harm. This person as well as all of my children are my life. Without them I don't exist. I pray that every American take all of our political actions very, very seriously. America has always stood for freedom, and many many people have fought and died for the rights listed in the Bill of Rights. We all need to think about that every single day. Do not allow our current government to take away our freedoms, they are truely sacred. God Bless our Troops, and God Bless America!!!

5/9/09 This weekend we are in North Carolina visiting James and Brittany. We are having so much fun! Today we went to Wilmington, NC and did some shopping. Brittany got a brand new IPhone - COOL!! Fran got a hat that says "infidel" - and I got a foot long Tootsie Roll - MMM! Tonight James and Fran are making us a delicious surf and turf dinner with steak and lobster, asparagus, grilled squash, and lots of other yummy stuff. I guess this next week will be spent trying to work off all of the food I ate this weekend.
